What Happens After Your CPR Certification Course

At Main Line Family Education (MLFEd), we’ve seen firsthand how CPR training gives individuals the confidence and knowledge to act quickly during an emergency. Whether you’re taking a class to meet work requirements or for personal peace of mind, obtaining your CPR certification is a big step toward helping save lives.
But what happens after you’ve completed the course? In this post, we’ll walk you through what to expect after your training is done, specifically how to access your American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification card.
Once your training is complete, we will handle submission of your certification to the American Heart Association. The AHA will then issue the certification card electronically, within two weeks of your training.
How to access your e-card:
- Look for an email from e-cards@heart.org in your inbox. If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder.
- You can also access your e-card directly from the AHA website here: heart.org/mycards
- Enter your first name, last name and email address provided at our training.
How to download your e-card:
- Open the email from e-cards@heart.org
- Click on the link to accept your e-card.
- Download the file.
- Print cards and/or share the file as needed.
Mark Your Calendar:
Remember, CPR certification is valid for two years, and it’s essential to stay up to date so you’re always prepared to respond in an emergency. Skills can fade over time, and guidelines are often updated, so regular recertification helps you stay confident and informed. As you access your certification card, take a moment to mark your calendar or set a reminder for when it’s time to renew your training. Planning ahead ensures you’ll maintain your certification without any gaps and continue to be an invaluable resource within your community.
Spread the Word!
If your colleagues or team members also need CPR training, we’d be so grateful if you shared our information within your organization. Your recommendation means a great deal to us and, more importantly, could make a life-saving difference. Thank you for helping us spread the word!
